Valentines Day Bookmarks
Cut a 5"x2" strip from red construction paper.
Cut white or pink heart shapes about 1/2" to just under 2" wide.
Paste the hearts onto the bookmark.
Punch a hole in the center of the bookmark, about 1/2" from the top and put red ribbon through the hole and tie.
Heart-Shaped Valentine's Day Brooch
1 cup flour
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon oil
1 cup salt
Red Food ColoringMix together the flour, water, cream of tartar, oil, and salt.
Stir over medium heat until smooth, adding food coloring at the end.
Remove from the pan. When cool enough to handle, knead until well blended.
Shape into hearts and press pins into the backs of the hearts.
Valentine's Day Pasta Pictures
Dye different shaped pasta in red food coloringl. . Glue the pasta on a big piece of heavy red construction paper. Make a bunch of little heart shapes from the pasta and/or use the pasta to form words::
"I Love You"
"Be Mine"
Another variation on this is to use cinnamon red hots to make the pictures and words.
Valentine's Day Red Hot Ice Cubes
Put cinnamon red hots in water in ice tray. Serve them in a glass of juice, pop, or put a bunch in a punch bowl..
A Special Valentine's Day Gift
Wrap a small box in Valentine's Day wrapping paper or make your own by decorating red construction paper by pasting on pink hearts, and adding stickers, glitter, etc. You could also wrap it in colorful funnies from the newspaper.
Tie the package with a red ribbon.
On regular construction paper or any kind or fancy stationery write the following poem and attach it to your special valentine's day gift box:

Valentine's Day "Red" Carnations
Cut the ends off of three white carnations;
Add warm water to a vase and place in a few drops of red food coloring.
Place the carnations in the vase.
Watch patiently as the red coloring seeps into the carnation.
Valentine's Day Pot Of Hugs & Kisses
Take a small clay pot and decorate by painting little red hearts on it. You could also add stickers to it or glue on hearts or little sayings.
Fill up the pot with Hershey's Hugs, Hershey's Kisses, cinnamon red hots, Valentine's Day Conversation candies, etc.
Magic Valentine's Day Hearts
Cut out a heart from white construciton papers.
Write a special message to your valentine using a white crayon on the white construction paper (be sure they press down hard on the paper when writing).
Then paint the hearts red.
The special message will appear as if by magic.
Red Valentine Heart
Cut out 2 big, identical-sized red hearts; decorate as desired.
Staple edges together, leaving an opening at the top to be stuffed with newspaper.
After stuffing the heart, staple the top together completely; including a red ribbon in the middle so the heart can be hung up (in the window, against the wall, etc.).
